Happy Kids Schools has launched its 30th-anniversary celebrations with a commitment to promoting inclusive education and also enhancing the learning experience of students.
The anniversary celebration which is expected to continue till the end of the year is under the theme “30 years of excellence in total education: our contribution to nation building.”
The educational institution, established in 1993, has over the years groomed a number of students to become better members of the society contributing to national development in diverse ways.
In an interview with Citi News on the sidelines of the anniversary launch, the founder of the school Jemima Nartey noted with satisfaction that the school has grown in leaps and bounds.

“The success story for me is that I started with one child, sat in front of a child for three months teaching him and then “boom”, kids started coming and for me today all the past students especially those who completed JHS in the first decade and second decade today I see them in very important positions, professionals in great careers. For me, that is the success story. It is not about me, it is about them,” she said.
On plans going forward for the school, Jemima Nartey mentioned that she was poised to deliver inclusive education while expanding its frontiers.
“We already have started a school in Dawhenya, and we expect that that school too will progress. As we said, we have started inclusive education which is why you see mild autistic children in the school. You have seen that we have started teaching sign language and all these things, so we are looking at an inclusive school. We are looking to start the international curriculum at the Dawhenya branch and also hoping that we will move to the senior high school level,” she added.
The anniversary celebration launch was also used to outdoor the Happy Kids School Scholarship Fund which will enable persons desirous of supporting the school’s scholarship scheme.
Director of Happy Kids Schools, Dr. Nikitta Dede Adjirakor while announcing the setup of the fund underscored the school’s commitment to ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to grow and develop.
“Our Scholarship scheme builds upon years of providing funding to students for education whether in the pre-school, basic or junior high school, sometimes extending to secondary and tertiary levels. After 30 years, we are consolidating our efforts, and I am proud to announce to you the setup of the Happy Kids School Scholarship Fund. This is a complete funding space where we can provide financial aid in the form of scholarships and bursaries to different students. You can donate in any way to this fund. Either by supporting a previously established scholarship, creating your own fund or simply supporting by providing books or uniforms. The scholarships are for all students, brilliant but needy, children in different circumstances, orphans etc,” she said.
Some activities planned for the anniversary celebration are speech and prizing giving day, fun fair, medical outreach and screening of a brand new documentary telling the 30 year journey of Happy Kids Schools.
