The search for Ghana’s next big music talent commenced in earnest with Citi TV/Citi FM’s reality show, “Voice Factory,” which kicked off with a two-day audition session over the weekend.

The atmospheric sounds in the studios of Citi TV at Tesano were filled with enchanting moments as hundreds of participants, who registered to be screened for the contest, took turns showcasing their musical dexterity.

“Voice Factory” is an exhilarating music competition organized by Citi TV/Citi FM, providing a platform for young individuals to exhibit their extraordinary musical talents.

With an ultimate prize of GH¢20,000 up for grabs, this captivating contest will span a sixteen-week period, specifically targeting aspiring participants aged between 18 and 24 years in Ghana.

During the two-day screening exercise, held on the 20th and 21st of May 2023, the young acts were given the opportunity to prove their mettle and secure a spot among the top ten artists to be shortlisted for the fifth edition of Voice Factory.

The participants experienced both highs and lows as those showered with praises by the judges left happily, while those whose performances needed polishing walked away with a tinge of sadness.

Some participants viewed the auditions as a learning curve, promising to work on their singing abilities and return for the next season.

“I’m happy to be part of the auditions,” remarked one of the participants. Another participant said, “I went to a music school. Until I participated in the auditions, I thought my singing was apt.”

The top 10 participants who will be unveiled for the June 2023 contest will be selected by the judges based on their performances, dedication, vocal ability, and more.

They will then embark on a thrilling journey, navigating through several weeks of themed competitions such as Reggae/Dancehall, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Pop, Afro-pop/Hiplife, Highlife, Inspirational Gospel, Duet (Team-Up), Face-Offs, Acoustic Night, and Artiste Night.

The journey will intensify as eviction sets in, leading to the final four participants who will compete for the ultimate prize of GH¢20,000.

Apiokor Seyram Ashong Abbey, the Head of Production Programmes for Citi TV/Citi FM, assured viewers and listeners that the 2023 edition of Voice Factory promises to be a fun-filled experience that will keep them glued to their seats.

“To stay updated, tune in to Citi FM/Citi TV and follow all our social media pages. You will witness the judges’ conference, where they will deliberate and select the top 10. Season five of Voice Factory will commence on June 10,” underscored Apiokor Seyram Ashong Abbey.

She praised the participants for their wonderful display of talent, noting that they left a lasting impression on the judges.
