In a groundbreaking achievement, the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) College of Education in Bimbilla celebrated the graduation of its first batch of degree teachers. With a total of 362 graduates, this marks a significant milestone for the college, which has recently transformed into a degree-awarding institute in affiliation with the University of Cape Coast.
Among the graduates, 16 individuals—15 males and one female—achieved first-class honours.
During the ceremony, Dr. James Gurundow, the principal of the college, urged the graduands to exhibit discipline and embrace diversity as they venture into their respective communities. He emphasized the importance of being agents of positive change and cautioned against engaging in activities that could harm their own lives.
Dr. Gurundow also emphasized the significance of continuous self-improvement and urged the graduands to pursue further professional development. He used the opportunity to appeal for support to address the challenges faced by the college, including inadequate lecture halls, an assembly auditorium, accommodation for tutors, and sports facilities.
Dr. Gurundow also beseeched the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to follow up on the promise of a modern computer lab for the college.
Abdulai Yaqoub, the MCE for Nanumba North, pledged to provide a modern auditorium for the college during his tenure.
