An alumnus of the Department of Information Technology at the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems at the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Mr. Solomon Atta Owusu Manteaw has been appointed the Chief Information Security Officer at Standard Bank Ghana. Solomon is an Information Security Professional with over 10 years’ continuous and practical experience in general IT Systems Design, Implementation, and support. He has several years of experience executing specialised security engineering (design & implementation), administration/support and incident response management assignments. He has worked with the Standard Bank Group since 2018 and worked previously with EProcess International SA. (Ecobank Group).
Solomon possesses a first-class degree in information technology from the Ghana Communication Technology University (November 2011) and a September 2013 MSc. Digital Forensics (Cyber Response Readiness) Degree from the GCTU/ Coventry University College (UK) Transnational Education Degree Programme. Solomon also possesses various certificates spanning subjects like
Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Network Security Specialist (CNSS) – ICS| UK.
The Head of the Department of Information Technology and Caretaker Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems, Dr. William Brown-Acquaye noted that “the faculty of Computing and Information Systems extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Solomon Manteaw, on his well-deserved appointment as the Chief Information Security Officer of Stanbic Bank. He noted that as a Dean, witnessing FOCIS alumni achieve such remarkable heights fills the faculty with immense pride, and the faculty was thrilled for Mr. Solomon Manteaw as he takes on this new and significant role.
The caretaker Dean noted as well that this accomplishment serves as a testament to the faculty’s vision of nurturing industry leaders in the field of Information Communication Technology. He noted that FOCIS was firm in their belief that Mr. Solomon Manteaw would excel in this position, just as he has in his previous roles, continuously elevating the reputation of both the university and the faculty.
Mr. Solomon Atta Owusu Manteaw was also trained at Achimota School and is Head of Music at the Perez Chapel, Dzorwulu.
