Jobberman Ghana, the leading career development, job placement, and recruitment solutions company in the country, has announced its partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to launch the “M-Fit Project – Matchmaking of Females in Tech.”

The aim of this project is to bridge the gender gap in the technology sector by empowering and equipping young women with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) backgrounds with essential soft skills, thus enhancing their employability in the tech industry.

Hilda Nimo-Tieku, the CEO of Jobberman Ghana, explained that the “M-Fit Project” is a comprehensive initiative designed to train a minimum of 100 young women aged 18 to 35 with STEM backgrounds in employability soft skills and place them in suitable tech-related roles in Ghana.

In today’s world, the technology sector offers innovation, growth, and countless opportunities.

However, women remain significantly underrepresented in this field.

Recognizing this disparity, Invest for Jobs, an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by GIZ, among others, has decided to collaborate with Jobberman Ghana to address this gap and create a more inclusive tech landscape.

Nimo-Tieku stated, “My team is currently conducting field research to identify the primary reasons for the low participation of women in the tech sector and the specific soft skills that females with a STEM background need to excel in the workplace.”

“The results of this research will inform the training programs for these 100 women, which will span four weeks.”

“As a recruitment and talent management company, the M-Fit Project aligns perfectly with our mission to connect qualified job seekers with opportunities and transform lives,” Nimo-Tieku emphasised.

This project aims to take the first step in enhancing female employability in STEM by matching 60 women with STEM-related backgrounds with relevant tech jobs by early 2024.

Jobberman Ghana and BMZ, through GIZ, are determined to make a transformative impact on the tech industry, empowering young women and guiding them towards a brighter future.
