Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Mr Mohammed Aourongjeb has joined the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team to donate items to GADA M/A Basic School at Kasoa Ofaakor in the Central Region.
The items presented are, 2500 liters water storage tank, 20 pieces of mono desk, 10 pieces of dual desk
1000 pieces of Note 1 exercise books, as well as a high-resolution projector to enhance the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The water storage tank, according to the company, is intended to improve the hygiene of the students as the school has a population of over 1000.
Also, the desks are to augment the furniture stock of the school as desks meant for one person, is shared by two and some other desk are in poor state.
The exercise books, are to support pupils in doing their work since some of the parents cannot shoulder all the responsibility when it comes to teaching and learning.
Mr. Mohammed Aourongjeb, CEO of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd admonished the school administration to put the items presented to good use and assured of the company’s continued support to other public basic schools across the country.
He added that the company has spent over one million cedis already on this year’s CSR activities across the length and breadth of the country.
“This gesture is part of giving back to society. Over the years we have dedicated ourselves to serving the interest of customs. We have already spent over 1 million in CSR alone” Mr. Mohammed Aourongjeb told Citi News.
Madam Lilly Avemegah, Branch Manager of Kasoa Ofaakor pointed out that the company is pleased to support the school in their operational area.
The Area Manager, Madam Beatrice Baiden said the company, has and continues to support communities and some special schools in the country as the government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities.
The CSR Manager of the Company, Richard Nartey said “We have really supported our clients and communities in our operational areas across the country massively this year in the areas of tree planting exercise, medical and breast screening among others”
Mrs. Angelina Yorke, Headmistress of GADA M/A Basic School at Kasoa Ofaakor was very appreciative of the efforts and showered praises on the company.
“We have been lacking infrastructure for years now as the population of the school keeps growing so, the presentation of items is going to go a long way to reduce the burden on our school and we will plead with other institutions near and far to also lend their support”.
