In a gesture of solidarity and compassion, a delegation from Heritage Christian College has donated essential aid to victims devastated by the recent Akosombo Dam spill at Mepe in the Volta Region.
The donation, totaling a value of GH¢40,000, included a range of essential items aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the displaced victims. Among the donated items were 1,000 exercise books, 400 pens, 200 bags of sachet water, mattresses, blankets, rice, oil, tomato paste, mosquito coils, toilet rolls, soft drinks, washing powder, and gently used clothing.
The Registrar of Heritage Christian College, Dr. Christopher Akwaa-Mensah, speaking on behalf of the university, highlighted the university’s commitment to compassion and community, emphasizing how these core values motivated the initiative to support victims of the dam spillage.
Led by the Registrar of Heritage Christian College, Dr. Christopher Akwaa-Mensah, the delegation comprised select members from various university departments, including the Executive Committee, Admissions Office, Media and Public Affairs, and the Student Representative Council (SRC).
The impactful contributions from the students, staff, and faculty of Heritage Christian College were geared towards making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by the tragic events in Mepe. The delegation’s compassionate endeavour aimed not just at providing physical aid, but also at offering a message of hope and solidarity during these challenging times.
