The Perez Chapel International (PCI) has pledged to fund the construction of one of the resettlement centres for victims of the recent Akosombo Dam spillage.

‘Operation Rebuild’ is a Citi FM/Citi TV-led initiative to construct resettlement centres for the victims of the spillage. The initiative is aimed at providing sustainable housing and other essential amenities for the victims.

PCI’s donation is a significant boost to the Operation Rebuild initiative, and it is a testament to the church’s commitment to helping those in need.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Resident Pastor of the Dome, Bishop Selassie Agyinasare said, “We have all seen what has been happening in the news, we have seen the videos and pictures. It will be very inhumane not to move.”

Head Pastor of Zoe Land, Mataheko, Bishop Raymond Kumah Acquah, added, “We have been following Citi FM, and we have been following the good works you are doing. It is like almost every day, we are tuned in. Particularly, our Archbishop Bishop Charles Agyinasare. He follows a lot on Citi FM, what is going on and he keeps receiving calls. At such a time like this, we need to pull all resources together to support the good works Citi FM is doing.

“We were informed that you are trying to build some resettlement for the affected victims. And so, looking at the cost involved and all of that, Perez Chapel decided that we would take up the cost for one unit. This is something we felt that we cannot take ourselves from it.”

The Managing Director for Citi TV/Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah, expressed his gratitude to PCI for its generous donation.

“This means that they are paying between GHC200,000 and GHC250,000,” he explained.

The Akosombo Dam spillage has displaced thousands of people from their homes. The Ghanaian government has launched a relief effort to help the victims.
