Venice View Resort to host first ‘Akyeke’ festival in Baku

A three-day festival to promote the unique and rich cultural heritage of the people of Nzema will be held at the prestigious Venice Beach Resort in Baku from May 3 to May 6, 2024.

The festival, dubbed Akyeke, is being organised by US-based Ghanaian business mogul, Kwasi Sarfo Nkrumah, in line with his objective of positioning the coastal areas of the Nzema part of the Western Region as the country’s foremost tourism destination.

The festival will feature a variety of activities, including:

I. A showcase of the rich local food of the people of Nzema, including aky3k3, Aponsu (Special Recipe for Local Seafood), and abolo.

II.Musical performances from some great Ghanaian musicians as well as those from the Nzema areas.

Local cultural dances, crab hunting, and Nzema kube tasting.

 

III. Affordable accommodation at the Venice Beach Resort.

Tourists will also have the opportunity to visit Fort Apolonia at Beyin, a significant historical site in Ghana and Africa. Other activities include beach games, activities, prizes, competitions, food tasting, souvenirs, and even a boat ride to Nzulezu to see the stilt village.
