The Member of Parliament for Walewale and Minister for Gender, Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has appealed to delegates to give her overwhelming endorsement in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries.
After submitting her nomination forms for the primaries, the MP emphasized that she has brought lots of developments to the constituency and still has more to offer. She made this appeal while submitting her nomination forms at the party office in Walewale.
She said, “I want to say that we have done a lot of work in this constituency. If you talk about roads, we have constructed roads; if you talk about lights, we have achieved 100 percent coverage, and we are doing extensions. If you talk about schools and water, we are here. If you talk about jobs, we can tell you the number of jobs we have created and are still creating. We have the watermelon factory coming up, a hospital is under construction, an orthopaedic centre is in progress, and a fire service school is also in the works. These are all developmental projects that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has supported us in bringing to this constituency.”
She added, “As the candidate and the MP for Walewale, I can count, and I’ll account to my people for what I’ve done in this constituency. I’ll go to the radio station and provide an account to you, specifying each and every village where we have supported a child, assisted someone in getting a job – we have all the documents. We’ll also inform you about the villages we haven’t touched yet, and we have all the documents for those. Next time, we are going to extend our support to those villages. So, I want to tell everybody that we should support breaking the 8.”
The Municipal Chief Executive for Walewale Constituency, Aremeyaw Somo Lucky, who accompanied the MP to submit the forms, pledged his full support for her and joined the appeal to delegates to vote massively for her to continue the good works.
He noted, “We are here with our MP and the aspiring candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party in the Walewale constituency. This is a woman of substance that, as the chief executive, I’ve worked with. And you can see that developmental projects in the municipality are dotted across; it is through her efforts that all those things are working. I am telling you that this is a woman who stands for everybody, and when you give her the opportunity to continue her mandate, In Shaa Allah, the Walewale constituency would be a place everybody would envy. I am here to support her in filing her nomination form, and I’m happy that all of you are out to see her through the process.”
Hajia Lariba is being contested by a gentleman from the vice president’s office for the Walewale seat.
