Atleast 104 of the 128 polling executives in the Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region have thrown their weight behind the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh.
The executives who will vote at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries on January 27, believe Hon Prempeh who is also the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources deserves another chance to continue her developmental agenda in the constituency.
According to them, Freda Prempeh has made remarkable achievements in the area of jobs creations, entrepreneurship, sanitation, health, education and other social interventions.
The three term MP has also been commended for achieving several milestones since she took over the reigns at the Ministry of Sanitation.
The polling station executives who are also delegates have assured of her re-election in order for her to complete ongoing projects across the 25 electoral areas in the constituency.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, January 14 at Duayaw Nkwanta, they hailed the construction of the Fire Service Training School at Abuom by the MP.
Victor Owusu of New Town electoral area who spoke said “after the completion of the Fire Service School, many qualified young people in the constituency will be recruited into the Fire Service as a way of job creation”.
Samuel Boateng of Tromo Electoral Area also said “the Tromo electoral has benefitted from the toilet facility, durbar grounds and others while Ama Serwaa of Duayaw Nkwanta said “Hon Freda Prempeh has constructed more than 130 boreholes and other water projects across the constituency, not to talk about the road constructions, nobody knows the constituency more than her”.
Members of the media were taken on a tour of some of projects completed by the MP. They include 115 boreholes, 10 durbar grounds, one astro turf sports complex, provision of 1000 street lights, 200 solar streetlights to deprived communities, 11 chps compound, provision of 25 toilet facilities, provision of 25 schools, provision of 400,000 cashew seedlings to farmers and completion of a Fire Service Training school.
Other ongoing projects are national electricity grid (90 percent coverage), construction of the constituency office and construction of a 20-seater toilet facility at Terchire. At the Twewaho Nkwanta community, a mechanized bore-hole has been constructed, and electrical poles have been mounted for onward connection to the national grid.
She is also responsible for school feeding to basic schools and provision of scholarships to 900 SHS students.
