The SD-Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) has instructed Vice-Chancellor Prof. Philip Duku Osei to vacate his office within two weeks after surpassing his retirement age.
The university argues that Prof. Philip Duku Osei, who reached the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years on November 30, 2024, is still in his position.
The Office of the Council Chairman of the university, in a letter to the embattled Vice-Chancellor, stated, “The Council has consequently, at its Emergency meeting held on Monday, January 15, 2024, declared your office as having come to an end with immediate effect.”
According to the university, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor has been sworn into office as the Vice-Chancellor to act in the position until a substantive Vice-Chancellor is sworn in, directing Prof. Philip Duku Osei to hand over.
“You are hereby under instructions of Council to take immediate steps to hand over your office to the Acting Vice Chancellor within two weeks of the date of this letter.”
