The Electoral Commission (EC) says it has begun the process to get Parliament to change the country’s Election Day from December to November.
The EC, with support from some political parties, is pushing for a date change for national elections in Ghana.
The EC says the move has become necessary following an application from political parties.
Deputy Chair of the EC, Dr. Bossman Asare, says the Attorney General and Minister of Justice have been contacted for the necessary action.
“Usually, we begin by going through the Attorney General’s department, and commissioners have pointed out that we are fully ready, and we are putting everything together to be able to do that. So it is something in the days to come you will hear from us,” he added.
