Accra 2023: Three Ghanaian sprinters to compete in 100m finals

Three Ghanaian runners will be hoping to pick up medals in the men’s and women’s 100m finals at the University of Ghana Stadium today.

While Mary Boakye will be competing in the women’s division, 100m record holder, Benjamin Azamati will be running with his compatriot, Barnabas Aggerh in the men’s final.

While Benjamin Azamati advanced to the finals with a time of 10.41s, Barnabas Aggerh clocked a time of 10.42s, and Mary Boakye did 11.64s to book her place.

Mary Boakye will be the first to compete as her race is scheduled for 17:10GMT and Benjamin Azamati and Barnabas Aggerh will step on the tracks at 18:20GMT.

In other events, Rose Yeboah and Esther Obenewaa will be representing Ghana in the women’s high jump event while William Amponsah will be competing in the men’s 10000m marathon.
