The Likpe Mate Citizens Association (LIMCA) has supported the Likpe Mate CHPS Compound in the Guan District of the Oti Region with essential medical items.
The donation, which included a delivery bed, suction machine, fetal doppler, baby weighing scale, fridge, mattresses, and ceiling fans, was in response to the facility’s lack of essential logistics.
The chairman of LIMCA, Francis Xavier Mensah, expressed the association’s solidarity with the healthcare professionals at Likpe Mate, who are working tirelessly with limited resources. He expressed confidence that the donation will enhance the quality of healthcare services provided at the CHPS Compound.
The District Health Information Officer, Mr. Roland Attah, on behalf of the District Director of Health Services, expressed gratitude for the support and called on other stakeholders to emulate the benevolent gesture.
The assemblyman for Likpe Mate Electoral Area, Elias Dormenya, highlighted the significant impact the items will have on the facility. The midwife in charge of the facility, Ms. Viola Gawu, expressed her joy and stated that the donations would go a long way to help in quality healthcare delivery. She also promised that the donated items would be used effectively and efficiently.
In his closing statement, the chairman of LIMCA disclosed the association’s willingness to adopt the maternity unit of the facility, pending approval from the District Health Directorate.
