The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has urged Ghanaians to rally support for the NPP and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to help build a robust internet infrastructure to mitigate future disruptions.

Sympathizing with the business community on the challenges they are facing due to the recent internet disruptions caused by undersea fiber optic issues, Salam Mustapha assured them that the government is committed to addressing the challenges in the shortest possible time.

In a statement, the National Youth Organizer also called for collaborative efforts to overcome all the obstacles for a brighter future.

Below is Salam Mustapha’s full statement.

I write to you today with a heavy heart, understanding the challenges many of our youth entrepreneurs are facing due to the recent internet outage caused by undersea fiber optic issues. The impact on businesses, especially those reliant on online platforms, has been significant.

As the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, I want to assure you that we are committed to addressing these issues and supporting our youth in overcoming these obstacles. Dr. Bawumia’s vision for enhancing Ghana’s digital infrastructure is more crucial now than ever before. By improving our digital landscape, we can create more sustainable jobs and ultimately enhance our lives and economy.

I am pleased to announce that the government will license StarLink, a technology that will provide faster and more reliable internet connectivity through satellite technology.

This advancement will ensure that our businesses and youth have access to a more resilient internet service that is not dependent on traditional fiber optic cables.

In these challenging times, let us rally together and support the NPP and Dr. Bawumia in their efforts to build a stronger digital infrastructure for Ghana. Together, we can overcome these obstacles and pave the way for a brighter future. Let us stand united and work towards a prosperous Ghana.
