The Anlo traditional council has dissociated itself from an alleged Cocoa Smuggling offence involving the use of the council’s branded Toyota Bus.

The driver of the bus belonging to the Anlo Traditional Council was reportedly arrested at Attimpoku while transporting bags of cocoa in what police suspect is a smuggling attempt.

According to the spokesperson for the Anlo Traditional Council, Agbotadua Kumasa, the driver was not sanctioned by the council to convey any goods whatsoever and could therefore not be acting on behalf of the council.

“I want to state categorically that am not aware, that’s a lie. He even told a lie that he was asked to convey tiles on behalf of the council and that is a lie, that is one of the greatest lies,” he said.
