IIA holds 3-day National Internal Audit and Governance Conference in Accra

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Ghana has successfully concluded its three-day National Internal Audit and Governance Conference in Accra.

The conference, which brought together professionals from various sectors, aimed to enhance the role of internal auditing and governance in the country.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony on May 8 and was graced by key figures in the auditing and governance sector.

The attendees were welcomed by the President of IIA Ghana, Joseph Dakora Zumasigee, who emphasized the importance of internal auditing in ensuring transparency and accountability in both public and private sectors.

Over the course of three days, participants engaged in a series of workshops, panel discussions, and presentations focusing on the latest trends and challenges in internal auditing and governance. Topics ranged from risk management and fraud detection to the role of technology in auditing.

One of the highlights of the conference was a panel discussion on the impact of digital transformation on internal auditing. Experts discussed how advancements in technology, such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, are reshaping the auditing landscape.

The conference also provided a platform for networking, allowing professionals to connect, share experiences, and discuss potential collaborations. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and peers.

The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where the President of IIA Ghana thanked all participants for their active involvement and contributions. He expressed optimism about the future of internal auditing in Ghana, stating that the insights gained from the conference would undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of the sector.
