NPP Fanteakwa South makes strides, initiates several projects

Most communities in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region have joyfully welcomed significant developments at their doorsteps, thanks to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The district had lagged in development, but under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, new hope has been restored. Notable developments include major town roads, electricity extensions, new police stations, market centres, hospitals, mechanized boreholes, town halls under the One Million Dollar per Constituency initiative, schools, and more.

The Ehiamenkyene community, located in the Fanteakwa South District, celebrated yesterday as NPP party executives, led by Member of Parliament Kofi Okyere Agyekum, parliamentary candidate Duke Ofori-Atta, District Chief Executive Ernest Ofosu, and Party Chairman Maxi Kwadwo Appiah, broke ground for the construction of a 1,976 square meter floor pavement with concrete curbs for the market.

Also present were the Fanteakwa South District Coordinating Director, Mr. Albert Kobina Mensah, the District Engineer, Mr. Foster Adu, and all the Dade Mantse of the Ehiamenkyene community, including Chairman Emmanuel Narh and Dade Mantse Kujuku Matey.

It will be recalled that MP Kofi Okyere Agyekum recently constructed and commissioned a market shed for the Ehiamenkyene community. However, the market needed concrete floors to prevent mud during rains. The request by the market women to ease their struggles has now seen the light of day with this new development.

Breaking ground to commence work, Kofi Okyere Agyekum noted the Ehiamenkyene market as one of the busiest in the Fanteakwa South District, highlighting the responsibility of leaders to improve conditions there.

“As an MP, one of the first things I did for this market was a shed for maize sellers before I recently constructed the main market shed and gari shed. Today, we are here to add a pavement, which shows that the NPP has good intentions for the people of Ehiamenkyene. Therefore, we need more votes to bring more developments here.”

Kofi Okyere Agyekum used the occasion to introduce the new parliamentary candidate for the NPP Fanteakwa South, Duke Ofori-Atta, as his successor and urged the people to vote massively for him and Dr. Bawumia to ensure more development.

He expressed confidence that Duke Ofori-Atta would continue the projects he started throughout other communities in the district, touting Duke as a man of integrity who can bring more development to Fanteakwa South. “In fact, I can boldly say that Ehiamenkyene is no longer a stronghold of the NDC. We have done so much here, so please reward us in the next election.”

Duke Ofori-Atta, the parliamentary candidate for Fanteakwa South under the NPP, in his remarks, expressed his delight at witnessing the busy Ehiamenkyene market. “The NPP has shown great love as the only party that can bring development to this country. We started with Free SHS, built more schools, and are now building more hospitals under the Agenda 111. The Roads Minister was here last week to inspect roads linking to Bepoase, and work will begin soon. We will come and listen to your problems for prompt solutions, and we hope you will reward us and appreciate our efforts in the next election.”

Duke Ofori-Atta commended Kofi Okyere Agyekum for his good works and assured that he would continue the legacy to bring more development to Fanteakwa South District.

District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South, Ernest Ofosu, expressed joy at receiving such massive development in the district. “This is one of the nicest markets we have, but mud during rains and erosion was damaging its beauty. We are indeed glad to witness this new development,” he said, appealing to the market people to accept the temporary relocation for work to begin and be completed on time.

“All these developments are a clear attestation that the NPP’s entire 16 years in power outweigh the NDC’s 27 years of ruling this country. As such, the NPP is the party to trust.”

Most of the market women who spoke in interviews with the press were happy that their economic activities had significantly improved and pledged to support the construction by getting involved. They also called on Ghanaians to trust the NPP by voting for them massively this December.

Commissioning of Durbar Grounds for Bepoase Community

Upon the request by the Bepoase community, also located in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region, MP Kofi Okyere Agyekum constructed a 400-capacity Durbar ground for the Bepoase community, which was commissioned yesterday. He was joined by NPP party executives, including parliamentary candidate Duke Ofori-Atta, District Chief Executive Ernest Ofosu, and Party Chairman Maxi Kwadwo Appiah.

Nana Asare Afromanu II, Chief of Bepoase, thanked the NPP government for the numerous projects the community has received. He assured that he and his people would give the NPP more than 99% of the vote in the December elections.
