Hiplife legend Okyeame Kwame brought his energetic performance and important message to the students of the Shelter for Abused Children Facility/Vocational Institute in Osu.

He headlined the Sickle Cell screening and awareness event on Friday, June 7, 2024.

The event, organized by the G.N.S Foundation in collaboration with the school, aimed to educate students about the prevalence of Sickle Cell disease in Ghana and the importance of early detection and management.

Okyeame Kwame, a longtime advocate for health awareness campaigns, enchanted the students with his energetic performance.

He weaved his popular hits like “Woso ” into the setlist, substituting some lyrics to address Sickle Cell disease.

The performance of the legendary Hiplife artiste served as a puissant tool to engage the students and make the event memorable.

Beyond the entertainment, the event featured informative sessions from medical professionals affiliated with the GSCF. They explained the basics of Sickle Cell disease, its symptoms, and the importance of getting screened.

This educational component would have equipped the students with the knowledge to advocate for their health and well-being.

The guest speaker, Dr Paul Enin, delivered the address, while former Sports Minister, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, gave the guest of honour speech.
