Creative Arts Agency meets artistes, managers on ‘Play Ghana Agenda’

The Creative Arts Agency has held a meeting with key figures from the Ghanaian music scene on June 28, 2024.

The occasion was marked by the presence of Director General Gyankroma and Deputy Director Franky 5 from the Creative Arts Agency, alongside influential artiste managers including Gormi and Electro Mirror, who represent Gyakie.

The agenda for the day centred around the pivotal initiative: The Play Ghana Agenda. Whose L.I is before parliament and is being reviewed for approval. It resonates with the aspirations of both artistes and managers alike and sparked a lively exchange of ideas and strategies to elevate Ghanaian music onto the international stage.

Director General Gyankroma opened the dialogue with a poignant observation on the rich cultural tapestry that Ghanaian music embodies.

She emphasized the need for strategic collaborations and investments in infrastructure to harness this cultural wealth effectively.

Her vision underscored the importance of preserving Ghanaian musical heritage while simultaneously innovating to meet global trends.

Deputy Director Franky 5 echoed these sentiments, highlighting the pivotal role of technology in modern music distribution and promotion.

He stressed the importance of leveraging digital platforms and social media to amplify Ghanaian music’s reach beyond national borders. His forward-thinking approach resonated with the assembled managers, who eagerly discussed practical steps to integrate these strategies into their artists’ careers.

Among the attendees, Gormi, a seasoned artiste manager and music distribution Agent shared insights gleaned from years of navigating the music industry landscape.

His emphasis on artist development and strategic planning struck a chord, prompting a collective brainstorm on nurturing emerging talent and ensuring sustainable growth.

Electro Mirror, representing Gyakie, brought a global perspective to the discussion. He emphasized the urgency of exporting Ghanaian music through targeted international partnerships and strategic marketing campaigns.

His proposal to establish dedicated music export initiatives garnered enthusiastic support, signalling a unified commitment to expanding Ghanaian music’s footprint on the global stage.

Throughout the gathering, a spirit of collaboration and optimism prevailed. The participants recognized that while challenges lie ahead, the potential for Ghanaian music to resonate globally is limitless.

By embracing innovation, nurturing talent, and forging strategic alliances, they affirmed their collective resolve to propel Ghanaian music to new heights of international acclaim.

As the meeting concluded, Director General Gyankroma reaffirmed the Creative Arts Agency’s commitment to supporting these initiatives.

She expressed confidence that with concerted effort and a shared vision, Ghanaian music would not only thrive domestically but also captivate audiences worldwide.
