Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced that it will conduct repair works on the 900mm (36”) transmission line at Breman Ahenfo due to perforation.

The repair is a result of the drainage construction from the Suame roundabout to Breman Ahenfo on July 12, 2024, which caused damage to the transmission line.

To facilitate the repair, GWL in a statement on Monday, July 22 requested the closure of the Barekese Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, to allow GWL engineers to work on restoring the transmission line.

The affected areas will include Suame, Tafo/Pankrono, Asokwa, Bantama, Sokoban, Kronum, Barekese, Manhyia, Oforikrom, Kwadaso, Atasamanso, Kotwi, Adum, KNUST, Odoum, Asokore Mampong, and surrounding areas.

Customers are advised to store enough water ahead of the exercise to last during the period.

GWL apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and assures customers that the water supply will be restored immediately after the repair work is completed.
