Accra was treated to a night of pure musical magic as Indigenous band Kwan Pa celebrated their 7th anniversary with a sold-out concert at the Zen Gardens in Labone on Tuesday, July 30.

Known for their magnificent performances and commitment to African indigenous music, Kwan Pa did not disappoint.

The band’s infectious energy enchanted patrons from start to finish, solidifying their status as one of Africa’s greatest musical exports.

One of the peaks of the evening was a thrilling live performance that showcased the band’s unique blend of Palm Wine music, Highlife, and Adowa rhythms.

Their intricate guitar work and masterful use of the Seprewa (an indigenous harp-lute) created a mesmerizing soundscape that had the crowd on their feet.

To mark the special occasion, Kwan Pa cut a celebratory cake amidst the cheers of the enthusiastic crowd. The concert was a star-studded affair, with legendary Ghanaian actors Fred Amugi and Pascaline Edwards among the notable attendees.

Made up of Hassan,  Kwabena Safo, Nanay Oweni and Kwame Agbahoasi Minamo, Kwan Pa’s dedication to preserving and promoting African indigenous music has earned them multiple awards and a loyal fanbase.

Their innovative approach to music has redefined the genre, making them a leading force in the African music scene.
