The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has refuted claims of a nationwide strike by a group calling itself the ‘Concerned NSS Personnel Association of Ghana’ (CONSPAG) over unpaid allowances.
CONSPAG announced a strike on July 3, 2024, alleging that unpaid allowances were affecting the livelihoods of service personnel.
However, NASPA, the recognised representative body for national service personnel in Ghana, in a statement has denied the strike, stating that CONSPAG is not a recognized entity under the secretariat.
Meanwhile, NASPA has also revealed that the Secretariat has released payment for April, which is expected to be reflected in the accounts of personnel by July 5, 2024.
May allowances are also expected to be paid shortly after the April funds are reflected.
The Association has urged the public to disregard the alleged strike, assuring that it is in discussions with management to address recent delays in allowance payments and prevent future delays, ensuring timely reflection of allowances.
