The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has been discharged from the hospital after he was involved in a serious accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.

The incident occurred on July 27, 2024, at around 1:30 am near Aduapompo, while Ahiagbah was travelling to Kumasi for a scheduled programme.

Ahiagbah’s vehicle collided with an articulated truck.

In a social media post [X], Ahiagbah confirmed his discharge from the hospital, expressing gratitude to God and thanking everyone for their prayers and support.

Ahiagbah specifically acknowledged the medical team led by Dr. Charles K. Dally, Dr. Otu Boateng, Dr. Roland Azorliade, and Professor Peter Ambe, as well as the nurses at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), for their care and treatment.

He described his experience at KATH as “frightening and painful,” but also eye-opening, highlighting the deficiencies and prospects of Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.

He announced plans to establish a Turning Point Foundation to promote a people-centred, outcome-driven health policy regime in Ghana.

I am out of the hospital today with a few more knots to untie, but I am back on my feet again.

Thank God almighty, and thank you all for your prayers and support.
