Atwima Kwanwoma residents decry deplorable road, threaten to boycott December elections

Residents of Kyekyewere, Bekwame, Asempa, and Kotwi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region, are facing a dire situation due to the deplorable state of their roads.

The roads, which have been neglected for years, have deteriorated to the point where they are posing a significant threat to the lives of the residents.

The poor road conditions have made it extremely difficult for pregnant women to access healthcare facilities, resulting in complications during delivery.

The situation is further exacerbated by the fact that the road network, which was awarded to Kofi Job Construction Limited in 2008, has been abandoned for several years.

The drains constructed years ago have broken down, and the road has developed gullies, making it nearly impossible for vehicles to pass through.

The residents are frustrated and desperate, and some have even vowed to boycott the general elections if nothing is done to address the situation.

They are calling on the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action to repair and maintain their road network, ensuring safe and accessible transportation for all.
