Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has embarked on a tour of WASSCE examination centres to monitor progress and offer support to candidates.

His first stop was Labone Senior High School, where 1,444 students were taking the exams, with an equal number of boys and girls.

Rev. Fordjour extended best wishes to all 460,611 candidates across 1,003 schools and 1,000 centres, expressing hope for their success.

According to him, he chose Labone SHS as his first visit due to its impressive performance last year, where one of the top three WASSCE candidates in West Africa was from.

The Deputy Minister commended teachers for their dedication and the government’s investment in free SHS and TVET education, enabling students from diverse backgrounds to participate.

He expressed excitement about the preparations and hoped for another outstanding performance from Labone SHS students.

“We are excited about the preparations that have gone in and we are thankful to the teachers for the diligent way that the past three years they have prepared our students beyond just this examination, the holistic education they have given them.

“But the government has invested heavily into our students in second cycle free SHS, free TVETs has made it possible for students from whatever background.”
