The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has vowed that supporters of the party will continue removing New Patriotic Party (NPP) stickers and posters from District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) equipment purchased by the state.
Asiedu Nketiah condemned the incident where DRIP equipment was parked at the hotel of NPP’s Upper Manya Krobo parliamentary candidate, Joseph Tetteh, leading to a confrontation and injuries.
He emphasised that the NDC will resist attempts to brand state property with NPP party paraphernalia.
Speaking at Ahwrease in the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, Asiedu Nketiah stated, “The government has purchased DRIP equipment to develop our district assemblies after nearly eight years in power, despite declaring ‘years of roads’ with little to show for it.”
“Now, just months before a new government takes over, they’re suddenly acquiring equipment and branding it with NPP stickers.
“We won’t stand for this politicisation of state property. If they put up their stickers, we’ll remove them. We’ll not hesitate to take down any partisan markings on state-owned equipment.”
