Frederick Lokko, a 15-year-old student of Covenant Presby School, received a hero’s welcome at a thanksgiving service held at the Covenant Congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Dzorwulu, Accra, following his victory in the Literacy Challenge 2024.
The Literacy Challenge 2024, powered by Citi FM and supported by Channel One TV, concluded on Saturday with Frederick emerging as the winner after a gruelling quiz competition.
He beat out thousands of Junior High School students who entered the competition, making it to the top 10 finalists and ultimately claiming the top spot.
In second place was Lillian Narkeasha Amoako of Silicon Valley International School while Oliver Kwakye Amoah of Jireh International placed third.
The top three contestants have already appeared on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily show.
Frederick’s victory was celebrated by his church community, who gathered to thank God for his success on Sunday.
