The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched an investigation into a disturbing incident at Kumasi Academy, where a female student was physically assaulted by her peers.

The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, occurred on Monday, August 12, and has raised concerns about student discipline and safety.

According to the Municipal Director of Education, Sampson Anawuni, the GES has set up a committee to investigate the matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

Anawuni described the incident as an abuse of a girl-child and emphasized the need for swift action to address the issue.

The incident occurred when a group of students accused the female student of engaging in a sexual act and physically manhandled her across the school compound.

A video of the incident has been circulating on social media, prompting calls for action from parents and the general public.

The service has assured that it will take appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has also launched a probe into the matter to bring perpetrators to book.
