An opinion survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics in the Ashanti Region has named former President John Agyekum Kufuor as the best president in Ghana’s history.
The poll, which asked respondents to rate the best president ever, saw Kufuor leading with 52%, followed by Dr Kwame Nkrumah with 42.63%, and President Nana Akufo-Addo with 28.40%.
The results, analysed by Mussa Dankwa, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, on Channel One TV‘s Citiuation Room, also showed Jerry John Rawlings with 25.25%, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills with 18.67%, John Dramani Mahama with 13.09%, Edward Akufo-Addo with 12.30%, and Hilla Liman with 0.72%.
According to Mussa Dankwa, the results indicate that Kufuor’s leadership and legacy continue to be highly regarded in the Ashanti Region, with his ranking as the best president ever a testament to his impact on Ghana’s history.
“Here we asked them who is the best president ever, in the Ashanti Region. Kwame Nkrumah had 42%, Kufour had 52% and Nana Addo is 28%.”
“So, I think first is Kufour, followed by Kwame Nkrumah, and then Nana Addo, then you have Jerry Rawlings, then Atta Mills, then Mahama, then Akufo-Addo’s father and Hilla Liman last. This talks about the best-ever president who has been democratically elected in the country,” he stated.
