A 40-year-old man has died, and three others have been hospitalised following an attack by unidentified gunmen at a gold dealership shop at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, Charles Oppong, died on the spot, while three of his colleagues sustained gunshot wounds during the robbery, which occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024.
The attackers, who are yet to be identified, numbering about 10, stormed the Richberk Gold Enterprise around 7 p.m.

The gunmen reportedly fired shots indiscriminately, injuring the workers inside the shop.
The injured were initially taken to the Mankranso Government Hospital but later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The incident occurred while some miners were at the shop to sell their gold, leaving customers and workers shocked.
The gunmen escaped with valuables, and the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, who are still at large.
The Assembly Member for the Mankrano/Domeabra Electoral Area, Emmanuel Frimpong, called for increased security in the area.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander led a team of police officers to visit the deceased’s family to offer condolences and assured them that efforts are underway to apprehend the robbers.
