IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe has praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto, describing it as “clear, relatable, humane, and universal”.
The manifesto, launched on Saturday, August 24 outlined the party’s vision for Ghana, including promises to abolish certain taxes, investigate the 2020 election killings, and bar political appointees from owning state properties.
Mr. Cudjoe, in a Facebook post commended the NDC’s commitment to gender representation, pledging 30% of public office appointments to capable women.
He also endorsed the party’s plan to address period poverty, which he believes will boost young girls’ confidence and education.
He also lauded NDC’s promise of a fiscal consolidation plan and economic summit, calling it “very sensible”.
However, he noted that his team will conduct a deeper analysis to quantify the value of the proposed 24-hour economy.
Mr. Cudjoe emphasised the need for good governance, advocating for a shift from concentrating power and resources for personal gain to prioritising the needs of the people.
