A 52-year-old man, Samuel Yaw Koranteng, has been arrested and handed over to the Nsawam police after he was seen with a biometric verification device (BVD) belonging to the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
The suspect, who claims to reside in Tudu, Accra, was spotted with the device, identified by serial number VVD49976, on Friday, August 23, in Nsawam by some local residents.

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nsawam immediately facilitated his arrest and turned him over to the police for further investigation.
Mark Oliver Kevor, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, confirmed the arrest to Channel One News and called on the Inspector General of Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
