Africa World Airlines (AWA) has renewed its commitment to improving services to better cater to its customers.

This reaffirmation comes as the airline celebrates its 12th anniversary, during which it recognises dedicated staff by awarding them with a plaque.

Speaking to the media after the event in Accra on Friday, September 20, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for AWA, Luolin Cui expressed his appreciation to the team and reiterated the airline’s focus on delivering improved services.

“I am very grateful for the staff’s dedication for these 12 years. I hope that we will have a great future together. Safety is the most important thing for the aviation industry, and we are doing our best to ensure that in our service to our customers,” he noted.

Several employees expressed their ongoing loyalty and commitment to the company’s future.

“It looks like the company has a bigger plan, and we all want to share the experience with the company in the future. So far, Africa World happens to be the only private African airline that has existed for a long time. Most airlines come, and they collapse, but Africa World Airlines has been operating for more than 12 years. The future looks bright. It does not look gloomy,” Alfred Afli, an aircraft maintenance engineer with the company noted.

Cabin Trainer Victoria Massoud added; “Every time you’re teaching. I’ve been in customer service all these years meeting many people. It’s been amazing. Over the years, so much growth has risen from the ranks from the junior level to the senior level.”

Meanwhile, the airline company has stated that it will strengthen its corporate social responsibility.

Speaking to the media after the company distributed clothes and food to over 100 street children in Accra on Saturday, Sept 21, the Brands and Communications Manager for Africa World Airlines, Jocelyn Andoh said: “Every time we celebrate the anniversary, we are focused on our customers, and of course, they are still part of this anniversary. But this time around, we said we wanted to give back to our community.

“We’ve been in operation in this particular vicinity for all of the twelve years that we’ve been operating, and we decided that it’s time to give back to our community. That is why we decided to do this for the street people around.

“We will continue with it. I mean, we are strengthening our CSR activities. In the past, we haven’t made it that strong, but this is the best time around. Starting this year, we are deciding to be very out there with our CSR activities.”
