The People’s National Party (PNP) has confirmed Janet Asana Nabla as its flagbearer for the upcoming presidential election with Dr. Edmund Ayesu as her running mate following a decisive meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
This decision marks a critical step for the PNP as it prepares for the election.
In an interview with CitiNews, Janet Asana Nabla emphasized the party’s plans moving forward and called on Ghanaians to rally behind the PNP to secure victory in the December 7th election.
“The PNP is going to kick start very soon. At the moment, we are gathering our signatories across the region to make sure that we meet the electoral commission criteria.
“So that’s what we are doing at the moment. But immediately after that one is done, we will kick off our campaign.
“We’ve already told Ghanaians what we are going to do to make sure that we redeem Ghana from the situation that Ghana is in now.
“So we’ve already said it and we are saying it again that Ghana is at the crossroads and this is a time for a new political party to come in, especially the PNP that has a woman as its flag bearer or a presidential candidate to be given the opportunity to be able to come in to do what we are supposed to do.
“When you look at the slogan of the PNP you say, my family, my community, my motherland. It will be difficult for someone who doesn’t care about their family to be able to love the community and then to love the country. Ghana.
