The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) has postponed the reopening date for the 2024/2025 Academic Year, scheduled to begin on September 30, 2024.

This announcement comes in reaction to the ongoing strike by some tertiary unions, which includes the Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG), Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) over some working conditions grievances.

In a press release dated September 26, 2024, the management of the institution disclosed that a revised date for reopening shall be communicated after the industrial action is resolved.

However, UNIMAC said scheduled admission processes for students with short courses, and special programmes will still be enforced.
