Today, October 30, 2024, marks the 21st anniversary of the untimely demise of legendary Ghanaian Hiplife/Dancehall artiste, Terry Bonchaka.

Born Terrence Nii Okan Mensah Adjetey, the iconic musician tragically passed away in a car accident on the Legon-Okpoglo road in 2003, following a performance at the Akwafo Hall Week celebration.

Bonchaka, the 2001 Hiplife Champion, who died at age 21, was renowned for his electrifying stage performances and monster hits such as “Ghana Ladies (Gbeebi Akle),” “African Tsoo,” “Zoozey,” and “Puulele.”

In a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, the then manager and right-hand man of the late Terry Bonchaka honoured the memory of the late “Puulele’’ Crooner.

Reagan Mends, now an entertainment journalist at Citi FM/Channel One TV, expressed his disbelief at the passage of time and vowed to preserve his legacy.

Terry Bonchaka mentored several celebrated artistes, including King Ayisoba, Sherifa Gunu, and Shatta Wale. He was the grandson of the late Speaker of Parliament, Peter Ala Adjetey.

Let’s watch excerpts of his stage performance
