Former Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has expressed optimism about the future of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars.
In an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Friday, Arhinful emphasised that despite current challenges, the team has the potential to rise again with the right mindset and strategic planning.
“There is hope, I think the Black Stars can never be a ship, because the ship will sink and sink forever. It will be even difficult to salvage it but this is sports and so you can have phases where you will go down.
“Your performance will not be encouraging, but with the right mindset and plan, I am sure you will be able to revive, come back, and be where you are expected to be,” Arhinful stated.
Arhinful’s comments come at a time when the Black Stars have faced criticism for their recent performances.
However, he believes that the team’s struggles are part of the natural ebb and flow of sports. He stressed the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and focusing on long-term goals.
“The ship is not sinking, there is a future but we need to first of all plan and plan well,” he added.
