Kofi Akpaloo, the presidential candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has made some bold promises to support Ghanaian citizens.
He has vowed to provide GHC500 monthly to children under 18 and GHC700 to unemployed individuals above 18.
During an interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Kofi Akpaloo said he aims to put money in people’s pockets and alleviate financial struggles when he’s voted into power in the December polls, calling on the electorate to vote for him.
“When they vote for me, I’m going to put money directly into people’s pockets. Every child in Ghana below the age of 18 years will receive a monthly child benefit of GHC500.
“Those who are above 18 years, who are unemployed, will be given income support of GHC700, then we are going to amend SSNIT law, so that those of you who are working when you lose your job, SSNIT will pay you unemployment benefits.”
Akpaloo also plans to amend the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) law to offer benefits to those who lose their jobs, providing a safety net for the unemployed.
