The Accra High Court has adjourned the hearing of an injunction application filed by disqualified presidential aspirant Samuel Apea-Danquah, rescheduling it for Thursday.
Mr. Apea-Danquah, who was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC), is seeking a judicial review to overturn the decision.
Ahead of the main case, Mr. Apea-Danquah requested the court to halt all EC activities related to the upcoming presidential election.
However, when the injunction application was presented on Monday, his lawyers sought an adjournment to Thursday, citing the need for additional time to respond to an opposition motion filed by the EC.
Though the court initially suggested reconvening on Tuesday, Mr. Apea-Danquah’s lawyers successfully requested a Thursday adjournment.
Speaking to Citi FM after the proceedings, Mr. Apea-Danquah disclosed that his legal team has also filed a request for the EC to produce documentation detailing the criteria and decision-making process that led to his disqualification.
