The flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has accused both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of undermining the integrity of the 2024 voters’ register.
Ayariga alleges that the NPP and NDC bused minors and foreigners from neighbouring countries to partake in the voter registration exercise thereby compromising the authenticity of the voters register.
He said it was difficult to get a perfect register when both the NDC and the NPP compromised the integrity of the voters register by bringing in non-Ghanaians to be registered onto the electoral role.
“This voter register can never be perfect. You know why? We don’t have a perfect data in this country that captures every information of every Ghanaian and because of that, the NDC and the NPP took advantage of that and went and brought young kids that are not up to 18 to register.
“They went out to neighbouring countries such as Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and all other countries and brought in foreigners to come and register as Ghanaians. How are you going to get the perfect register? You have compromised the integrity of the register, and you are calling on others to give you a perfect register,” Ayariga said.
