The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, extending a formal invitation for him to serve as the Special Guest at the upcoming 2nd Edition of the GHS Excellence Awards in November.

The delegation, led by Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, included several senior GHS officials: Mustapha Hamidu, Director of the Finance Division; Araba Kudiabor, Director of the SSDM Division and Awards Chair; Martin Ankomah, Deputy Director of Administration; Norkor Dua of Mullen Lowe; Eva Mensah, Director of the Office of Nursing and Midwifery Services; and Jacob Acquah Andoh, Public Relations Officer.

During the visit, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed his gratitude and commended the tireless efforts of GHS staff in addressing health challenges across the nation.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye emphasized the importance of the GHS Excellence Awards, set for November, and shared his excitement about the Ga Mantse’s participation as Guest of Honour. “Health workers have been working diligently, especially in deprived and rural areas, ensuring the well-being of everyone, including myself,” he noted.

“Last year, we decided that, just as it’s done for other professionals, we should appreciate our health workers. We started the GHS Excellence Awards, and across all 16 regions, we recognized about 80 outstanding individuals from various levels of care. This year, we will do the same and introduce some special awards. We are delighted that the Ga Mantse has accepted our invitation to be part of this event,” Dr. Kuma-Aboagye added.
