The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially inaugurated an ultra-modern regional office in Narhman, in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, replacing the former office located at 37 Military Hospital area.
The new facility is designed to enhance service delivery and incorporate state-of-the-art technology and modernized digital tools to streamline the DVLA’s operations.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Chief Executive of DVLA, Kwasi Agyeman Busia, emphasized that this new office reflects the authority’s commitment to improving public service delivery through innovation and excellence.
He noted that the office would allow the DVLA to meet the evolving needs of customers efficiently, maintaining the highest standards in vehicle and driver licensing.
Mr. Agyeman Busia in his address said “The new office represents our ongoing commitment to adapt to the evolving needs of our customers, embracing new technology, and maintaining the highest standards in vehicle and driver licensing. Our goal is to serve our clients in a conducive environment with efficiency, safety and convenience,” he noted.
Deputy Minister for Transport, Hassan Sulemana Tampuli, in his address, highlighted the importance of adhering to road safety regulations. He acknowledged the new facility as a key milestone in improving the administration of driver licenses and vehicle registration, marking a significant moment in the evolution of Ghana’s road transport sector.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing the country’s transport infrastructure and ensuring that it remains efficient and accessible.
He noted that “One of the fundamental priorities of the ministry is to improve the country’s road safety situation. At the moment, road traffic crashes continue to claim the lives of far too many people, whilst progress has been made, resulting in some consistent reduction in traffic fatalities over the past few years, the work is far from over.
I am therefore confident that with the efforts made in improving the governance framework, particularly the new mandate of the National Road Safety Authority as a road transport service regulator, in addition to the other parallel programs, we can address carnage on our roads” he said.
With this new facility, DVLA remains dedicated to providing world-class services and fostering a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system for all Ghanaians.
The New Regional Office is located at Narhman, on Haatso Road, opposite Transitions Funeral Home.
