The Ghana Police Service has apprehended Fatawu Ibrahim, also known as “Fatau Motorway,” who was wanted in connection with the violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra, on October 13, 2024.
Ibrahim was captured on video brandishing a firearm during the altercation, which allegedly resulted in two people being shot and injured.
The widely circulated video footage played a crucial role in identifying and locating the suspect.
“He is currently in police custody and will be put before the court in due course,” the police confirmed in a statement, adding that investigations are ongoing to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
