A motorist driving a Toyota V8 escaped the scene after striking and killing a pedestrian on the Kanda Highway, on Tuesday, October 8.

According to eyewitness Shaibu Danjuma, the driver initially stopped after the collision but swiftly departed.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 pm, causing temporary congestion.

The victim’s body, currently unidentifiable, has been taken to an undisclosed mortuary by police.

Locals informed Citi News that such accidents frequently occur on that stretch due to lack of street lights.
