The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Savelugu Constituency, Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, has officially commissioned a modern community centre for the people of Savelugu in the Northern Region, fulfilling a key campaign promise.

At a brief ceremony on Saturday, October 19, Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz also broke ground for the construction of an astroturf in the Savelugu Municipality.

She highlighted that the new community centre will provide a vital space for skill development, community engagement, and social gatherings, serving as a hub for collaboration and personal growth.

The parliamentary candidate further emphasized the benefits of the planned astroturf, stating that it will not only promote physical activity and nurture local talent but also create jobs for the youth in the area.

She encouraged residents to maintain the community centre to ensure its long-term value for Savelugu and neighbouring communities.

Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz urged constituents to vote for candidates who focus on development, promising that, if elected, she would advocate for Savelugu’s fair share of national resources.

“Support my candidacy and that of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 elections. I promise to bring substantial development projects to the area if elected as a Member of Parliament,” she stated.

Also present at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, urged residents to show their appreciation for the candidate’s developmental efforts by voting for both Hajia Abdul Aziz and Dr. Bawumia in the December elections.

Minister of Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, who graced the occasion, lauded Hajia Abdul Aziz’s exceptional contributions even as a candidate. He noted that, if elected, she would bring even more progress to Savelugu.

“Even as a candidate, she has initiated impressive development projects. Imagine what she could do as a Member of Parliament. Vote for her to ensure continued development for the good people of Savelugu,” he said.
