The National Sports Authority has issued a stern warning to persons planning to demonstrate at the Accra Sports Stadium during the Ghana vs. Sudan match.
This directive was announced in a press statement issued on Wednesday, October 9 by the NSA.
Speaking to Citi News, Deputy Director General of the NSA, Abdul Bawa Majeed, emphasized that demonstrations are strictly prohibited at football matches, as per Confederation of African Football regulations, warning that anyone attempting to enter the stadium with placards will be apprehended by the security apparatus.
The NSA advised football fans to adhere to all the match day security regulations before, during and after the game to avoid any form of arrest or sanctions.
“It has come to the attention of the Authority that some individuals intend to use the game between the Black Stars of Ghana and their Sudanese counterparts as a platform to promote an agenda that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) frowns upon.
“Any individual or group of persons who openly display any political or pressure group paraphernalia, apparel or placards at the Accra Sports Stadium will be apprehended by the security apparatus which will be deployed in and around the facility. In this regard. football fans are advised to adhere to all the match day security regulations before, during and after the game in order to avoid any form of arrest or sanctions.”
