The Managing Director of TotalEnergies, Olufemi Babajibe, has reiterated the company’s dedication to supporting Ghana’s economic growth through job creation and youth empowerment initiatives.

Speaking at the 2024 ‘Total Startupper Challenge’ in Accra, Babajibe highlighted TotalEnergies’ commitment to fostering innovation and reigniting the entrepreneurial spirit among young Ghanaians.

He emphasized that the company aims to drive economic development by investing in the Startupper Challenge, which provides budding entrepreneurs with resources and mentorship to scale their ideas and businesses, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic progress across Ghana.

“In Ghana specifically the StartUpper of the Year challenge has made a profound impact over the years. We have seen innovative projects emerge, addressing critical issues in various sectors from health care to agriculture to technology,” the Total Energies MD said.

He added, “This initiative has not only created jobs and economic opportunities but has also contributed significantly to Ghana’s development agenda.”

Olufemi Babajibe also explained that since the launch of the first challenge in Ghana in 2015, Total Energies Ghana has supported nine winners of the challenges with over GHS 500,000 disbursed to the winners.

“We have also granted them coaching and mentorship,” he remarked.
