A member of the Movement for Change, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has defended Alan Kyerematen’s response to former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Alan Kyerematen criticised the endorsement, claiming it compromises the impartiality expected of a statesman and could harm the former president’s reputation.
In an interview with Citi News, Asamoa stated that Kyerematen is entitled to also express his opinion.
“So, it is right for Kufuor to also compare who is best [candidate]? Since it is Kufuor saying that of the three major candidates, Bawumia is the best, doesn’t Alan have a right to also say what he deserves?
“If Kufuor feels he can arrange an order of merits for candidates who are going for an election, those candidates are not entitled to also project themselves,” he Asamoa said.
